“For there is a proper time and procedure for every matter, though a man’s misery weighs heavily upon him.” – Ecc 8:6

The team commitment to a plan is very important in achieving excellence. If we fail to plan we plan to fail. As a leader we need to plan purposefully to ensure our plan is aligned with His will. “Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the purpose of God prevails.” (Pr 19:21)

The second biblical way to overcome procrastination is to tell God honestly that we are tired of racing around the clock and pray for wisdom and help in using the time He has given us. “Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air.” (1Co 9:26) “Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunity.” (Col 4:5)

When there is lack of faith, we tend to go around the circle without a clear direction and destination. Without a faith-filled priority list, we will do a lot urgent matters and neglect the important things the Lord has called us in the first place. We need to pray for faith and wisdom to make decisive ways to get rid of all the distractions that hinder us from reaching the purpose of God. (Heb 12:1)

In Daniel 2:8, The king said to the astrologers, "I know for certain that you are bargaining for time, inasmuch as you have seen that the command from me is firm”. These astrologers procrastinated in giving the king an answer because they did not have the revelation from God. Praise God, our relationship with God gives us revelation through His Words that leads to resources for us to make a wise decision.

Let’s pray.

Lord, thank you for giving us faith to plan purposefully in accordance with your will. Help us to make wise decisions at a proper time with a Godly procedure. Amen.

Before we go, take a look at the questionnaire below:

1. When setting team goals and plans, how can we discern and ensure that these plans align with God's will?

2. How can we find the right path when we lack faith and direction?

3. Through the example of Daniel 2:8, how do you see God's revelation helping us make wise decisions?
